Privacy Policy for the “勇氣守護者” (Courage Guardian) App

This privacy policy explains how the “勇氣守護者” (Courage Guardian) mobile application (“App”) collects, uses, and protects your personal data. The App is published by Narrovosoft UG (haftungsbeschränkt).

2. Data We Collect
2.1 Data Stored Locally on Your Device
The App stores the following data locally on your device using secure storage. This data is never transmitted to our servers:
- Whether you have completed the onboarding tutorial
- Your saved favorite blessings
You can delete this data at any time by uninstalling the App.
2.2 User-Submitted Content
If you choose to use the “投稿一句話” (Submit a Blessing) feature, the following data is sent to Google Forms:
- The text you submit (up to 100 characters)
- Your nickname (optional; “匿名” / anonymous by default)
This data is processed by Google LLC under their Privacy Policy. We use this data solely to review community-submitted blessings for potential inclusion in the App. We do not use this data for marketing or share it with any other third parties.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (your consent, given by voluntarily submitting content).
2.3 Advertising (Google AdMob)
The App displays banner advertisements provided by Google AdMob (Google LLC). The AdMob SDK may collect the following data:
- Device identifiers (e.g., Advertising ID)
- IP address
- General location data (derived from IP address)
- Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)
- Device information (model, operating system version)
On iOS 14.5 and later, the App requests your permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework before enabling personalized advertising. If you decline, only non-personalized ads will be shown.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent via ATT prompt) for personalized ads; Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in financing a free app) for non-personalized ads.

2.4 App Updates (Expo Updates)
The App uses Expo Updates to check for over-the-air content updates. During this process, basic device information (app version, platform) may be transmitted to Expo’s servers. No personally identifiable information is collected.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in providing up-to-date content).
3. Data We Do NOT Collect
The App does not:
- Require user registration or login
- Collect your name, email address, or phone number (except when you voluntarily submit content)
- Use analytics or tracking tools (other than AdMob as described above)
- Use cookies
- Access your camera, microphone, contacts, or location services
4. Data Sharing with Third Parties
We share data only with the following service providers, solely for the purposes described above:

5. International Data Transfers
Some of our service providers (Google LLC, Expo) are based in the United States. Data transfers to the US are covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF) adequacy decision of July 10, 2023, and additionally by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) as a fallback mechanism.
6. Data Retention
- Locally stored data: Retained on your device until you uninstall the App.
- Submitted blessings: Retained in our Google Forms responses indefinitely, or until you request deletion.
- AdMob data: Retained by Google in accordance with their data retention policies.
7. Your Rights (GDPR)
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data (Art. 15 GDPR)
- Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- Erasure of your data (Art. 17 GDPR)
- Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- Object to processing (Art. 21 GDPR)
- Withdraw consent at any time (Art. 7(3) GDPR)

8. Right to Lodge a Complaint

9. Children’s Privacy
The App is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. The voluntary submission feature does not require or request any personally identifiable information beyond an optional nickname.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this privacy policy periodically.
